Dry Needling Services

Dry Needling is a targeted therapy that uses thin, monofilament needles to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscles, and connective tissues. This technique works by releasing muscle tightness, reducing pain, and improving movement through increased blood flow and neuromuscular activation. It is highly effective in treating musculoskeletal pain, tension, and dysfunction, helping patients regain mobility and reduce chronic discomfort.

01

Why is Dry Needling Effective?

Precise Targeting of Trigger Points

Dry Needling directly addresses the source of pain by deactivating trigger points, which are taut bands of muscle that cause localized and referred pain.

02

Reduction of Pain Signals

The needles stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms, including the release of endorphins and the interruption of pain signals in the nervous system.

03

Improved Mobility and Muscle Function

By reducing tension and improving circulation, Dry Needling restores muscle balance and flexibility, allowing for more efficient and pain-free movement.

Most Common Areas:
1. Upper Trapezius  2: Mid Back / Low Back   3: Calf Muscles/Achilles Tendon   4: Glutes/Hips  5: Shoulder/Scapula
6. Forearms

The Evidence

Evidence-Based Support for Dry Needling

Here are three high-quality studies that demonstrate the efficacy of Dry Needling:

1. Gattie et al., 2017

"The Effectiveness of Trigger Point Dry Needling for Musculoskeletal Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis"

This meta-analysis found that Dry Needling significantly reduces pain and improves function in patients with myofascial pain syndrome and other musculoskeletal conditions.

2. Dunning et al., 2014

"Dry Needling and Manual Therapy for Myofascial Trigger Points in the Cervical Spine: A Randomized Clinical Trial"

The study reported significant improvements in neck pain, range of motion, and disability in participants treated with Dry Needling and manual therapy compared to a control group.

3. Dommerholt et al., 2018

"Dry Needling for the Management of Myofascial Pain and Trigger Points in Chronic Pain Patients"

This research highlights the long-term benefits of Dry Needling in managing chronic pain, reducing trigger point activity, and improving quality of life.
